On the Road Again!

Welcome back! I thought this week I would share a little bit more about my life, specifically the part about living in a camper. I know it's not the norm (although there is definitely a big movement of people doing it) and so I thought I would share a little more about it!

Living in a camper has many pros and a few cons but overall it has been an amazing experience! We have lived in a few different places so far. We ended up being camp ground hosts the last 6 months and loved it! I enjoyed talking to all of the visitors and hearing their stories. We were right on the water so we were all in heaven getting to walk to the dock and see the water and jump on the boat right in our front yard basically. There was so much space for Bubba to play and ride his bike and I loved the big trees everywhere. We got to see lots of wildlife, our favorite was the dolphins! Bubba got to make friends with some of the kids that came through and it was really a blast! The only thing I was glad to leave was cleaning the bathrooms, but honestly it wasn't that bad. And usually bubba played with the hose while I did that or we searched for frogs. So many green tree frogs lived in those bathrooms. One day I was trying to clean the men's shower and I rescued like 15 baby frogs from there so I could clean it without hurting them. They ended up all over the walls and bubba loved watching them!

Anyway, even though all of the above things were so much fun (except maybe the bathrooms) one of my favorite parts was getting to talk to the visitors and hear their stories. I have always loved hearing peoples stories and I think it first started with listening to my grandparents tell stories from their life. It is fascinating the things we can learn when we sit back and listen. I am not always good at that but when I get it right the stories I hear and the things I learn are priceless. I loved hearing the journeys that many visitors were on and connecting with them and their story. It is so cool that even though we seemingly live a very different life to a lot of the visitors that in the end we always have something in common whether that be having lived in the same state, both having kids, both having traveled to a similar area, both living full time in a camper/RV, etc.

Even though I never in million years would have thought 10 years ago that I would be living in a camper, I wouldn't trade it for the world. God has shown us without a doubt that we are exactly where He wants us to be and I am so thankful for such confidence in what God is doing. And don't get me wrong a lot of what we are doing is really hard. Starting not 1 but 2 businesses is so hard but God is still good and He has surrounded us with many other couples who own businesses and I would not survive without them!!

Now that we have finished up our term at the campground we are actually living in our camper in a friends front yard. They have a boy who loves to play with bubba and it is like living with family. We are here for a short time and then will be moving to wherever God reveals. Until then I will do my best to find a place and then sit back and wait for him to say "Go here" or "Go there". For now I am going to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
